Ridge Opens Fencing Season at Watchung Hills

WARREN, NJ – The Ridge High School fencers faced off in a dual meet at Watchung Hills on Thursday, December 15th. The boys team secured the victory by a score of 18-9, while the girls dropped a close one, 14-13.
On the boys strip, the sabre team was 6-3 with Ethan Matthias and Daniel George both picking up two wins. Foils were near perfect at 8-1. Alex Ligos and Dayaal Singh led the way with three wins each. The epee team was 5-4 with Ethan Zhang and Reid Kokenge adding two wins each.
On the girl’s strip, the sabre team was 6-3 with Eva Chen adding three wins and Sohana Damani two wins. Foils were 5-4 with two wins from both Yasemin Ocak and Aria Chahal. The epee team was 2-7 with both wins coming from Charlotte Liu.
